There is your normal everyday M/M
romance story and then there is your Carmen Jenner M/M romance story,
two very different things.
I love this genre, the love between two
men is such a wonderful thing to read about. In most cases I have
seen you get so wrapped up in the actual love story that you forget
you are reading about two guys.
Not in this case....
The struggles between North and Will
are very much evident throughout this entire story. You are
constantly reminded of the he*l these two are going through.
Most of the time you read a book and
think, 'yeah, definitely fiction, no way this happens in the real
world.' Also not the case here.
Mrs. Jenner gives us a harsh look into
reality. Although these characters and this story may be fiction,
the struggles they go through are very much real and happening on a
daily basis.
The vulgar words that are used far to
frequently in this book are a constant reminder of the world we live
in. The way we were raised...we can all relate.
This author says it best...
'It's funny how kids see the
truth in everything. From birth we feed them a pack of lies, about
fairy-tales, Santa, the tooth fairy, a godda*n magical bunny that
leaves brightly-colored eggs all over the world on one day every
year. We tell them that love is unconditional, it's all that
matters...unless you happen to love another man. And then that love
is wrong, dirty and shameful.'
This is a very intense, disturbing and
gut wrenching story that will pull on your heart strings.
This story is also about two people who
defy the odds. Rise above the haters and get that happily ever after
that most of us only dream of.
Will and North's story will consume
you. You will find yourself mentally fighting right along with them
for the right to be happy.
Also, in normal Jenner fashion the s*x
is completely out of this world. I have read my fair share of M/M
romance and this, by far, is one of best. It's sensual and down
right raw.
I don't have to convince you to buy
this book because it's Carmen Jenner....the amazing author who sent
us to Sugartown, and introduced me to Kick, (my forever MC book
boyfriend).
Her stories are perfection so I knew
this would be no less. I will have to say, it was the first M/M book
that I have read from her so I was curious.
She...nailed...it.
6 Star read for me ~ Review by Stacey
