Series: Sugartown #4
Author: Carmen Jenner
Genre: Adult, Contemporary Romance
Genre: Adult, Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 11, 2015
Pepper Ryan grew up the troublesome, spoiled child of a rock god. With her less-than-stellar parentage, and the bipolar disorder that has plagued her existence, to say this little firecracker is a handful would be the understatement of the century.
Sammy Belle spent more than half his life saving Pepper. He’d been her strength, her sanity, and the protective brotherly figure she never wanted to have.
They were never meant to be together.
They gave in anyway.
And just when Sammy thought he had everything he wanted, Pepper ran.
Now twenty-three, Pepper returns to Sugartown, a failed tattoo artist with one too many screws loose who’s down on her luck, wielding an ice cream van as beaten up as her heart.
Sugartown’s most coveted bachelor has always been content with the quiet life he leads until Pepper, the hellion from his past, returns to test his strength, his patience, and perhaps even his sanity. But two can play at that game, and Pepper is about to learn that Sam can give as good as he gets.
Can this good country boy survive Pepper’s cruel city world, or will the whole thing be put down to a bout of temporary insanity?
One thing is for certain:
He’s crazy about her.
She’s just crazy.
Warning: Intended for an 18+ audience. Contains sexual content, oodles of profanity, a firefighter so hot you may need a very cold shower, and one pink-haired crazy Harajuku girl. May also contain traces of nuts. Some scenes within this book may be a trigger for certain readers.

Have you ever cried over a book before
you've even read it? I mean, I have busted out some serious tears
before even finishing a prologue, but NEVER have I gotten so
emotional before I have hit the table of contents.
I wasn't ready to leave Sugartown
before I started the book, and now that I am finished I am 100% sure
I am not ready to go. Sugartown is so visible in my mind. I picture
driving in my car and popping over a hill, being able to see the
entire town from up above. Surrounded by cane fields, barely
spotting the ancient mill amidst the smoggy cloud it creates.
*sigh* I can almost smell the burnt coffee now.
On the outskirts of town I see some of
my old favorites...Sugar Cuts Salon and Sugartown Pub, but as I reach
the heart of downtown I spot the infamous Big Bob's Bikes and Auto,
the business is gone but the sign still stands, and across from that
is the very memorable Belle's Pies. Yes, the pie shop. I can smell
the remnants of vanilla shakes and the famous Ana Cabanna Chocolate
Banana Cream Surprise Pie.
Now, I admit, I wanted to be fresh on
my Sugartown story lines so I reread the entire series in preparation
for the conclusion. Hmm, that could be one of the major reasons I
don't want to leave this place.
It felt kind of
weird at first reading about Sammy and Pepper. Going from baby
Pepper and cute little foul mouthed and innocent Sammy to their grown
up selves. Like I was more the age of the old crew... Elijah, Ana,
Jack and Holly. When they were referred to as old, I felt old as
well. LOL
One thing I really
enjoyed was this book had a kick butt lead female. Pepper was the
spitting image of her mother. Crazy, mouthy and just plain bad ass is
the only way I can describe her. She seemed to be the main character
in this book which you don't see very often, and I liked that. It's
always the guy, any more, with the troubles and the girl that needs
to fix him. This was a nice refreshing and much needed twist.
I won't give away
any spoilers, this is the conclusion and I don't want to ruin a
minute of it for anyone.
Carmen Jenner, you
are an amazing writer who brought this town to life. You may not be
writing any more stories from there but in my heart Sugartown lives
on. I plan on taking trips back there in the future. I will tell
“the gang” you said hello.
So, it's with a
heavy heart that I say goodbye to Sugartown.....for now.

Carmen Jenner is a
thirty-something, USA TODAY Best
Selling Author, doctor, pilot and CIA agent.
She's also a compulsive,
flagrant prevaricator who gets to make things up for a living.
While Sugartown may not
technically exist, Carmen grew up in a small Australian town just like it, and
just like her characters, she always longed for something more. They didn't
have an Elijah Cade, though.
If they did, you can
be sure she would have never left.
