So, anyone who knows me knows I love
fighter romance. Can I just say that when I read the first sentence
in this book, I knew I was going to like it.
'There are two smells in the world I
love more than any others: a woman right before sex and this
warehouse right before a fight. They're different, of course.
But both are thrilling and
unpredictable and make me want to explode.'
I mean, hell yes! I knew this was going
to be a win win for me.
Any time you combine underground
fighters and hot alpha males you know it's going to be good.
Ryder is all of the above. Former
fighter now runs the operation.
As far as women go, he has been burned
in the past and has a new way of thinking.
'Women. They smell good, they look
good, they taste good, but they can be so bad for you. My motto is
get in and get out, in all ways possible.'
He is absolutely not a player though.
He knows he is god's gift to women but believe it or not doesn't seem
to use it to his advantage, like we see in so many stories today.
Don't get me wrong though, he is still a sweet/dirty talker. No one
knows this better than Cassie...
“And what do you want right now?”
“You,” he says. “To shut.”
His lips skim down my neck, across my collarbone.
“The f*ck up.”
“Such language,” I say. “You
kiss your mother with that mouth?”
He raises his face to mine. “I
kiss everything with this mouth.”
Over, all this was a great story of
love, lies and the lengths taken to protect.
The only reason I am giving this 4 ½
stars and not 5 is because I wanted more dialogue.
